Users can be placed into a Hogwarts house by tipping. There are three modes: user chooses their house by naming it in the tip note, user is sorted into a random house unless they tip at least a certain amount, user is sorted into a random house no matter how much they tip. All token thresholds are configurable.

Tips from users in a house - including the tip that put them in their house - can add house points. The broadcaster defines the minimum number of tokens to add house points, as well as the number of tokens required for one house point.

All users can have their chat messages prefixed depending on their house, and houseless people ("muggles") have a separate prefix. Every few minutes (the broadcaster chooses how often) the current point scores will be announced in chat.

There are a number of commands available for use in this bot. You can find a help file on the github repository. There's a sort of tutorial file there as well. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: when shutting the bot down, first run /state and copy the output it sends you. This represents the bot's current state, including configuration, house points, and house members. When starting the bot back up, it will have forgotten all of this. Use the five commands it sent you to return it to the way it previously was.

This is a major rewrite of my now-deleted Hogwarts Houses bot. Much of the same functionality is present. Some features have been improved.
Do not attempt to run this bot AND VeganChat together - VeganChat has identical functionality, but without the Hogwarts elements! They WILL conflict with each other!
